So far we have prepared the walls for either painting or new fabric...we have most of the electrical done...readied the ceiling for 4 recessed can lights...no dimmers. We went with single post switches. I will have a different colored light bulbs I can change out in the recessed cans...this will allow the client to choose their "mood."
Our fabric has arrived and is ready for installation.
The next project will be to paint the walls and floor...then up goes the fabric...walls and ceiling.
PEA Studios will be dedicated to Forrest...Sloggs' spirit for life...may it always be found in my studio.
The burlap has been pulled away
Spackle, putty and sanding
First we spackled and puttied all the nail and screw holes on the back wall...sanded and then did it again...pretty smooth now...ready for sealer and primer.
I haven't chosen the color yet...would like to choose a green to stay with the pea motif.
Bare walls
Sealing and priming
We have the walls prepared for painting I need to decide on a floor color.
Now that I can see a white color on the walls, the primer, I am getting excited to choose my color and start painting.
The green color has been chosen...the next future update will be showcasing that.

Electrical
Electrical
I wanted 3 receptacles on the walls and one on the ceiling. Also wanted them with 20 amps and on their own circuits to the panel.
The light switches control the back wall and the front wall separately.
New receptacle
Future light switches
Lights
The electrician cut four holes to set the recessed can lights in.
The lights must be flush with the ceiling and still accommodate the fabric around it.
Cutting the holes for the can lights
The electrical is almost done...after we finish all the painting and fabric-ing we will get the lights in and tuck everything in nice and tight...the lights have an outer ring that will snap up to hide the in ceiling assembly.
The ceiling fabric and the lower wall fabric will be a lighter sandstone color.
Holes are cut
Drywall panel off
Bare wood trim
Wood work
Here we are sorting the wood which will be used for ceiling trim, door trim, base-board, corners and wainscoting...
Ready for stain and varnish
Stain and varnishing
I chose the darker stain to accent the lighter colors that will eventually complete the room.
I have a steel beam that runs through the ceiling of my studio and the next wood project will be to build a "box" around it.
